Food Prep: Green Beans
We are starting a series on Food Prepping or Meal Prepping. I know many of us do this for ourselves or a family member. We usually meal prep for our 16-year-old every Sunday after church. This way he has a lean protein, vegetable, fruit, and a starch for lunch everyday. I will use the term “lunch” loosely, as he usually eats on this large bag of food all day. And one of his favorites is Food Prep Green Beans so I had to make sure I shared it with you! I am hoping these posts and videos will serve as inspiration for many of you. This is not nearly as difficult or time-consuming as it first seems. And if you have just a few of the necessary tools it is so much easier.
One of my favorite “tools” for food prep are good containers for when you portion out your servings. Meal prepping goes much more smoothly if you cook, pack, and store it away for the entire week all at one time. I mentioned a few of the containers that I use regularly in my kitchen. One of my favorites is by Sistema. These containers come in several sizes and some of them have 2 or 3 compartments. I like the fact that they have a removable seal around the edge of the snap on lid. I prefer to store my son’s protein in this container to prevent leaking.
Another one I use all the time is Ball Freezer Jars . I have so many of these and they are so easy to find. Your local grocery store or Walmart will most likely have these. The size of these is so versatile and will fit many different food choices in your meal prepping
Here is the simple recipe for Food Prep Green Beans I showed you in the video today. I hope you enjoy. Soon we will make many more delicious Food Prep dishes! XO Lara
