Slow Cooker Apple Butter Pork Loin
Today I wanted to share another easy weeknight dinner with you – Slow Cooker Apple Butter Pork Loin! It is another slow cooker favorite with a few simple ingredients. Make sure to read the label on your apple butter, (or you have sweet friends that gift you homemade apple butter like me) then your healthy choices can continue. This apple butter from Musselmans Apple Butter is a great choice. It contains only 4 ingredients, apples, sugar, cinnamon, and cloves.
I included the quick tutorial for my Slow Cooker Apple Butter Pork Loin above. And you will see that it follows the same technique as the New Mississippi Pot Roast. You season your pork loin, this time with salt & pepper, then brown it in a pan. This adds a depth of flavor that definitely worth your time.
If you are not confident in trimming the fat and silver skin off of the pork loin, ask the butcher to do that for you at the grocery store. I do this for two reasons. One, we don’t need the extra fat. Two, the silver skin is inedible. And since the silver skin is under the fat there is only one way to get rid of it, remove both. While you are at it, go ahead and peel, core and slice your apples. Place them in a bowl of water to keep them from turning brown. Then slice your onion and place both in the refrigerator. You will add your apples and onions during the last hour of cooking.

I found a 7-quart slow cooker several years ago and have really enjoyed the flexibility that the extra quart has given me when preparing Slow Cooker Apple Butter Pork Loin. Here is one very similar to the one I use all the time 7 quart slow cooker . I like the locking lid feature as well. When we have to take a dish for an after-church event or a family reunion, this feature makes the car ride much less stressful.
