Savory Waffle Board featuring Gluten-Free Waffles

As we head into the Holiday season, I am excited to share this fun Idea with you. Gluten-Free Waffle Boards are a great take on the classic charcuterie board. What a wonderful way to gather together with family and friends, share in conversation, fellowship, and enjoy a wonderful meal.

Sweet or Savory

Now you can choose to make your Gluten-Free Waffle Board Sweet or Savory. Or you could always make it half and half. I chose to go entirely Savory for my board since that is what my family prefers. Your choices of toppings are endless and think color as you are making your selections.

Ideas for toppings

Savory:

Avocado

Boiled Egg

Tomato/Salsa

Cheeses

Roasted Red Pepper

Bacon/Sausages

Hummus

Hot sauce

Sweet:

Fruit/jams

Nuts/nut butters

Honey/maple syrup Cream cheese/ goat cheese

Waffle Maker and Griddle

So, for my Gluten-Free Waffle Board I used my Villaware Belgian Waffle Maker. This one from All Clad is ver similar to mine. It is $195 on Amazon, but I will say this is an investment piece. I purchased mine at Williams Sonoma 12 years ago, and it still works like new. I prefer the Belgian Style waffle because I love the texture you get from the large holes in the waffle.

I also used my double burner griddle to cook the meats for my savory Gluten-Free Waffle Board. Amazon has one from Cuisinart very similar to mine for $59.32. Quality does count for a piece like this. If a griddle is too thin they can heat unevenly and burn your food. This just allows me to cook a larger quantity in a shorter amount of time. Here is one just like mine from Amazon.

Gluten-Free Flour

In my video I mentioned the Cup4Cup All-Purpose flour blend that I tested for this recipe. The particular blend I used has milk powder in it. So, these waffles are not dairy free. However, that is why they brown so well. (and the BUTTER of course!) I promised to link another source for the Cup4Cup AP Flour just in case you don’t live near a Fresh Market. Amazon has it for $13.49! I paid $12.99 at Fresh Market so not bad to have it delivered to your door!
