Almond Buttercream Icing

Simple white buttercream made with real butter. Flavored with Almond Extract for a delicious twist!

Ingredients

  • 1 c unsalted butter softened
  • 3-4 c confectioner’s sugar
  • 2 tsp almond extract
  • Pinch salt
  • 2-3 tbsp heavy cream or half and half

Instructions

  • Whip softened butter with a mixer until light and fluffy. The longer you whip it, the lighter it will be in color. (My goal was nearly white)
  • Add confectioner’s sugar alternately with extract and cream. Mixing well after each addition Until you get a good spreadable consistency.
  • I doubled this recipe for my Easter Almond Cake. If you like thick icing you might want to triple it.
