Almond Buttercream Icing
Simple white buttercream made with real butter. Flavored with Almond Extract for a delicious twist!

- 1 c unsalted butter softened
- 3-4 c confectioner’s sugar
- 2 tsp almond extract
- Pinch salt
- 2-3 tbsp heavy cream or half and half
Whip softened butter with a mixer until light and fluffy. The longer you whip it, the lighter it will be in color. (My goal was nearly white)
Add confectioner’s sugar alternately with extract and cream. Mixing well after each addition Until you get a good spreadable consistency.
I doubled this recipe for my Easter Almond Cake. If you like thick icing you might want to triple it.
